Second grade students have been learning about habitats during their science time. Students learned how the deciduous forests of New York State provide the food, water, shelter, and space an animal needs to survive. Then, students dissected owl pellets to find evidence of our feathery friends’ food sources. Students identified bones, fur, and feathers from rats, voles, mice, and birds. What an exciting experience!
