Kindergarten Parent Information Night will be held this Thursday, March 16th from 6:00pm-7:00pm in the Elementary School cafeteria. Kindergarten teachers and support staff will provide an overview of the kindergarten program at CCS. Registration paperwork may be picked up or returned on this evening. Information on future screening dates will be provided during this meeting.

Tomorrow is the final day of PARP Week at the Elementary School. Friday, March 10th is "Cooperstown Readers’ Pride Day." Students are encouraged to wear orange and black!

Author & New York Times Bestselling Illustrator, Mike Lowery will visit Cooperstown Elementary School tomorrow, March 9th. Mike’s work nicely spans grades K-6, with beautiful non-fiction books as well as graphic novels about bugs that go camping. He’s also the author of "Random Illustrated Facts" and the "Everything Awesome" series from Scholastic Books. Thursday, March 9th is also "Dress to Impress Day" at the Elementary School. Students are welcome to wear nice "dressed-up" clothing, or they may dress as a shark, dinosaur or astronaut to celebrate Lowery's "Everything Awesome" books.

Cooperstown CSD’s Counseling Department is excited to announce upcoming opportunities for you, the larger community, and our students to learn more about screen time and navigating the internet safely, with an emphasis on mental health and wellness. On March 7th, the Integrated Community Alternatives Network (ICAN) will present a parent and community workshop at the Cooperstown Village Library. The program will be from 6:30-7:30PM and our gracious PTA will be offering refreshments beginning at 6PM. Students in grades 4-12 will receive similar but developmentally appropriate presentations at school throughout the month of March. These presentations will be held on March 15th for students in grades 4-8 and on March 21st at the Jr./Sr. High School Health Fair for students in grades 9-12. The goal of these programs is to educate students and families on the tools, skills, and strategies needed to become more digitally literate and safe, while gaining an understanding of the mental health impacts of our digital footprint. Cooperstown Central School held its annual National History Day competition on February 8, 2023. Eighth grade students are preparing for Wednesday's local History Day competition. Students research a topic based on the annual National History Day theme, which is Frontiers in History this year. Working as individuals or in groups, they produce a process paper, annotated bibliography, and a project. The final project can be a research paper, documentary, exhibit, performance, or website. Good afternoon. Recently we asked families to complete a survey regarding their transportation needs. As a follow-up, a Student Transportation Verification/Change Form for each student is being mailed home today. In order to get them out in as timely a manner as possible, separate forms were mailed for each student, so for families with multiple children enrolled in our schools please forgive the overload. If you need to make changes to the information or you require transportation for one or more of your children to and/or from a location other than your residence, please return the form as soon as possible so we can determine whether or not we can accommodate the request.
