All after-school activities starting on/after 4:30 p.m. are canceled for today, February 25. The Board of Education Meeting scheduled for tonight at 6:00 p.m. is still on and will meet in the Jr./Sr. High Library Media Center. Please be careful if you have to be out!

Cooperstown girls basketball defeats a tough Weedsport team to punch their ticket to play in the finals at the Syracuse Dome on Thursday night at 7:30pm.

Cooperstown fans are getting fired up as the girls warmup to play Weedsport in the Class C Section Semifinals at Onondaga CC.

Cooperstown boys basketball advances to the Sectional Finals to be held in the Syracuse Dome with a big win over Weedsport today. Great team win.

Milford/Cooperstown wrestler Avery Leonard finishes off a incredible season with a 3rd place finish at the New York State Championships this afternoon.

Congratulations to Milford’s Avery Leonard who wrestles for Cooperstown on winning his second match today 8 to 1. He advances to the state semifinals in the 106 lb weight class!!! Avery is back on the floor tomorrow morning.

CCS Sophomore Avery Leonard has won his first match at the NYSPHSAA State Wrestling Championships & will move on to the quarterfinals! TJ O'Connor was defeated in his opening match and moves to Wrestle Backs.

Section 3 Class C Basketball Quarterfinal round has been scheduled for Cooperstown. Girls: 5:30pm vs Onondaga Boys: 7:00pm vs Oriskany.

Great night last night as Cooperstown won multiple crowns at the Section 3 Class C Championships. Maddox Aramini won in the 200 IM and 100 Fly. Gareth Austin won in 100 Brestroke. Also, Ewan Chapman, Will Friedman, Max Hinrichs and Maddox Aramini won in the 200 relay. They will swim in finals at State Qualifiers on Saturday.

These are just a few of the inspirational messages that were left for every student in the Junior/Senior High School to find on their lockers this morning!

Section 3 seeding are out. On the boys side #2 seed Coop will host Thousand Islands at 7:00pm and the girls are the #4 seed and will host Mount Markham at 5:30pm. Both games will take place this Friday 2/15. Please come out and support.

Over the weekend, wrestler Avery Leonard became the 2019 Section II Champion at 106 pounds and TJ O’Connor placed third at 99 pounds. Congratulations to these outstanding athletes!

New banners are being raised in Bursey Gymnasium today. A lot of early mornings from Mr. Lyons is to credit for getting the job completed.

January Athletes of the Month and Extracurricular Students of the Month were awarded last week. Thank you Emily Perez for making our bulletin boards so nice.

Mrs. Nelen's class spent part of the morning at Price Chopper recycling bottles and cans collected from CCS. This afternoon, they were busy baking bread for an upcoming community event.

January 15th, Litmag and Media Team interviewed Shelly Callahan, director of the Mohawk Valley Resource Center for Refugees, and Selma Jasencic, Bosnian refugee who came to the US in 1992. Students took a tour and worked with Loch Phillipps, director of Off Ramp Films, Inc., who has been on location for his own documentary of the MVRCR. Footage he took of our students filming the interview and our audio of Shelly's answers may appear in his finished product. We've been invited back to cover a naturalization ceremony February 7th. Litmag and Media Team will edit the footage into an entry for the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Speak Truth to Power video contest. The entry will be featured on the 2018-2019 Literary Magazine website.
