Quiz team takes 1st place for Small Schools and 2nd overall in the 3rd annual Brainbusters Spring Tournament at Ithaca High School with contributions from (left to right) Lucas Shaheen-Kritz, Alex Bohler, Ray Hovis, Tournament MVP Adam Ilgin, Jon Stone, Nate Savoie, and Henry Wager. This was the last regular season tournament for seniors Ilgin and Stone. Ray Hovis and Kyle Meyer (not pictured) will join them for the Small School National Championship Tournament in Rosemont, Illinois, in May.

Second grade students have been learning about habitats during their science time. Students learned how the deciduous forests of New York State provide the food, water, shelter, and space an animal needs to survive. Then, students dissected owl pellets to find evidence of our feathery friends’ food sources. Students identified bones, fur, and feathers from rats, voles, mice, and birds. What an exciting experience!

On Wednesday April 10, the Board of Education will host an Open Budget Discussion for the full 2019-20 budget, starting at 6 pm. Immediately following this Open Budget Discussion will be the regular Board of Education meeting, where the property tax report card and 2019-20 budget are expected to be adopted. The CCS Thespians present the 5th Annual Hawkeye Revue - a fabulous ensemble of both students and adults who will showcase selected Broadway pieces from across stages and spanning time. Sat. 4/6 at 7pm & Sun. 4/7 at 2pm at CCS Sterling Auditorium


A big thank you goes out to Epic Landscapes for getting our baseball field ready for the season. It looks fantastic. JV baseball/softball will have the first chance to play home this Saturday at 11am vs. Little Falls.



The last two nights at the Baseball Hall of Fame were special for our girls and boys basketball teams. Mr. Niles and Mr. Lambert spoke about the team’s success and the memories that will last a lifetime. Congratulations on remarkable seasons.



The Cooking Club had a great showing at the Jr. Iron Chef competition this weekend. The breakfast lasagna was a big hit at the Elementary division. Congratulations to the High School team of Baileigh and Meagan Behan, Torrey Carrascoso, and Addison Harmon who took 2nd place.





A reminder to students in grades 3-8: this week is our 3-8 NYS assessment for ELA! Students in grades 6-8 will take the assessment on Monday 4/1 and Tuesday 4/2. Students in grades 3-5 will take the assessment on Tuesday 4/2 and Wednesday 4/3. Be sure to get a good night's sleep each night; a yummy breakfast each morning; and arrive at school on time. 8th grade students: please bring your Chromebook on Monday and Tuesday, fully charged!

Today was "Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character Day" at the elementary school. There were so many great costumes.

Students Kate Donnelly, Michael Kelley and Connor Voulo volunteered their time today to help clear ice and snow from the track. The track team has a scrimmage today at 4:30pm vs. Norwich.


Come out tonight and support our students who will be performing in our Spring Chorus Concert in Sterling Auditorium. Students ranging from 4th-12th grade will be on display. The show begins at 7pm.


The boys basketball team visited the State Capital Building yesterday. They met with Senator Seward for lunch and later honored by the State Legislature.
