
BREAKING NEWS regarding Regional Girls Basketball Games hosted by Section III at SRC Arena. Games will resume this Saturday with NO SPECTATORS in attendance. Only players and bench personnel will be permitted to attend along with officials.


Several members of CCS Litmag acted in and attended Voices for the Voiceless, a play written by Kristen Jastremski and Jeannine Webster, to raise awareness for refugees seeking asylum in the United States. CCS Litmag members Alex Bohler, Emma Pastor, Sofi Jones, and Ray Hovis are pictured left to right at the event. Emma is editing footage from Voices for the Voiceless for an entry for the Stronger Than Hate Challenge. Sofi is entering the LEAF Art and Poetry Contest. Alex is collaborating with other club members on a submission to the Robert F. Kennedy Speak Up, Sing Out songwriting contest. Ray has been selected for the New England Young Writer’s Conference at Middlebury College in May, specializing in poetry. He is the fifth Litmag member/contributor to be awarded this prestigious honor in the past four years.


CCS 7th grader Punya Phaugat won The Daily Star Regional Spelling Bee at SUNY Oneonta on Saturday, March 7th. She competed against eighteen other schools and went to 17 rounds to defeat the speller from Stamford Central School on the word turnstile. Punya and one of her proud parents have won an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., courtesy of The Daily Star, to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee. Come on out to support our Girls Basketball Team as they play in the Regional Finals this Saturday. Cooperstown will play Unatego in SRC Arena at Onondaga Community College. The game is scheduled to start at 5:30pm.


Please join us for Family Reading Night, THIS Friday, 3/13, 6-7:30 at the Elementary School. There will be books, storytelling, and grade 3-6 Battle of the Books! All ages are welcome at this great family event.


A hard fought battle came up a little short for our boys Basketball team today vs. a strong Weedsport team. We are so proud of your accomplishments this year. Congratulations to Ryan Lansing and Kaishaun Jefferson for being selected to the All Tournament Team.


Cooperstown wins the Section 3 Girls Basketball Class C Championship today. What a great performance. Congratulations to Weedsport on a fantastic season.


Cooperstown Art Association Galleries will host an Open Reception of new exhibits this Friday, March 6th at 5-7 p.m. including a congressional art competition for Otsego County High School Students, and “Robots Re-Wired”, a collaborative art project between Cooperstown Central School Kindergarten students and Milford High School art students. Cooperstown students drew robots earlier in the school year and those drawings were given to Milford High School art students to re-imagine through clay, graphic design, drawing and painting. The exhibit will remain on display for the month of March. CCS Students in Stephanie Nelen’s Life Skills Class participated in another community project this week. Michael, Jessica, Caroline and Shean, were joined by Mrs. Nelen, Mrs. Gardner and Mrs. Mebust as they baked several loaves of banana bread and pumpkin bread to donate to the 2020 Empty Bowls Luncheon, an annual benefit event for the Cooperstown Food Bank. Empty Bowls will take place from noon to 2 p.m. at the Christ Church Parish Hall at 69 Fair St. in Cooperstown.


The Cooperstown girls and boys basketball games will be streamed live by NFHS on Saturday from Onondaga Community College.

Make sure you mark your calendars for next weekend. The girls and boys will battle Weedsport for their chance to win the Section 3 basketball title at Onondaga Community College.
The girls will tipoff at 11:00am and the boys will follow at 2:00pm.


Come on out and celebrate the NYS Wrestling 2nd place finish of Avery Leonard. We will have a fire truck escort at noon today that will go down Main St. and conclude in Milford.


Avery Leonard is heading to the NYS Finals. He will wrestle for the championship around 6:30pm tonight.


Avery Leonard has moved on to the State Wrestling Semifinals today with another pin of his opponent. He will wrestle tomorrow 2/29 at the Times Union Center in Albany around 10am.


Mark your calendar in March for the CCS Senior Play! Thur. 3/19, Fri. 3/20 & Sat. 3/21 at 7pm at CCS Auditorium. Tickets $5 at the door.

CCS will host the Class of 2033 Kindergarten Parent Orientation on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 6:00 pm at Cooperstown Elementary School. Kindergarten Registration packets will be available at that time.
If you live in the CCS District and you have a child who will turn 5 years old on or before December 1, 2020, please call the CCS Elementary School office at 547-9976 between February 1st and March 15th to begin the enrollment process.
Documentation required for Kindergarten registration during the Parent Orientation evening:
Verification of residency (i.e. utility bill, pay stub, copy of lease/mortgage, etc.)
Proof of age (an original or certified copy of your child’s birth certificate)
Immunization record and proof of physical (within the last 12 months)

The Section 3 basketball semifinal games have been set. Our girls and boys will play Saturday 2/29 at Onondaga Community College. The girls will face Onondaga at 1:45pm and the boy will play West Canada at 2:45pm.
