CCS Jr./Sr. High School Library Media Specialist Michelle Hitchcock will host author Dr. Joseph Bruchac via LIVE Zoom link on Tuesday, March 16, 2021. This visiting author event has been rescheduled from last Spring. CCS Students in grades K-12 will all have the opportunity to join a 45-minute grade-specific Zoom session with our visiting author. Special THANKS to the Cooperstown PTA for providing support to make this event possible for our CCS students K-12.

 Dr. Joseph Bruchac is a Nulhegan Abenaki citizen, respected elder, storyteller, and author of more than 120 books. His books include Code Talker: A Novel about the Navajo Marines of World War Two, Bearwalker, and Jim Thorpe, Original All American to name a few. Code Talker is one title used for the 7th grade Battle of the Books Literature Circles. This novel shares the story of Ned Begay, a fictional Navajo Code Talker from World War II. These select Navajo Marines used the Navajo language to communicate military messages during the war.
