The Cooperstown Central School District is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Secretary to the Superintendent and District Clerk.  Position is full-time, twelve (12) month, Exempt Civil Service position offering a competitive benefit package.  Salary $40,000 - $60,000 based on preparation and experience.  District Clerk is expected to attend and record Board of Education meetings.

The successful candidate will perform all typing and clerical duties for the Superintendent and serves as a receptionist to the Superintendent’s Office. This confidential secretarial position requires computer knowledge of Microsoft Office, organization skills, attention to detail and quality of work is critical.  The candidate must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate (verbal and written) with staff, community, and Board members.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Working knowledge of office terminology, procedures, and equipment; reasonable knowledge of business Math and English; ability to type from clean copy or rough draft at a reasonable rate of speed; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to write legibly; clerical aptitude; mental alertness; neatness of appearance; tact, confidentiality, and courtesy; and, good physical condition.

SUBSTITUTE SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS Successful candidates are required by NYS Law to hold a valid CDL Certificate License.  Click here for NYS REQUIREMENTS.  CCS drivers are to be available during the hours of 6:30-9:30 AM and 1:00-4:00 PM Monday through Friday when school is in session. Bus runs after 3:00 PM also available for sporting events.




Modified Track Assistant - (Boys & Girls) Spring 2023

The Cooperstown Central School District is seeking qualified individuals for the Modified Track Assistant Coach and the Girls’ Modified Coach positions.

Successful candidates must possess appropriate certification/licensing as a Coach in the sport they are applying for and meet the requirements set by the Commissioner of Education of the NYS Education Department.

Sports Stipend is per the Agreement between the Superintendent of Schools of the Cooperstown Central School Board of Education and the Cooperstown Central School Faculty Association.

 Modified Track Assistant Coach stipend is $2,824
2023 Spring sports season: March 20 to June 12, 2023

Girls’ Modified Soccer Coach stipend is $3,749

2023 Fall sports season: August 28 to October 28, 2023

Looking for applicants that are flexible with their hours and understand the potential for short-notice contact. All substitute positions are on an as-needed basis. Effective December 31, 2022, the pay rates are equal to the NYS minimum wage as set forth in the Minimum Wage Act (Article 19 of the New York State Labor Law) of $14.20 per hour for the following positions:

  • Teacher (Daily Long-term) – $135 per day (certified)
