SCHOOL COUNSELOR or SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER (Full time) - Re-Posted: September 2, 2022

The School Counselor is a tenure track position, full-time, ten (10) months plus up to fifteen (15) additional days in the summer. The primary objectives and efforts of the Counseling Department at CCS are directed toward students K-12 as dynamic individuals with the boundless capacity to learn. We strive to support each student to make educational, vocational, and social-emotional decisions that are aligned with their needs, interests, and strengths. The Social Worker enhances the Cooperstown Central School District's ability to meet the emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and social needs of students in order to ensure curricular and instructional success. The role of a school social worker will assist to cultivate and maintain a school environment that supports a sense of belonging and connectedness, supports students in the development of positive relationships and self-esteem as well as strengthen community partnerships with the Cooperstown School District.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: NYS Certification as a School Counselor is required.

OR

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's Degree in Social Work from a graduate school of social work approved by the New York State Department of Education. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Current Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or must obtain Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) within three months of appointment.

SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST

Cooperstown Central School District is seeking a committed, student-centered professional who wishes to work in a supportive learning community. Be a leader among those in a dedicated team of educators as our School Psychologist.

SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST. NYS School Psychologist certification is required. Experience in behavioral psychology is desirable. This position is full-time, ten (10) month employment with a competitive salary and benefits package. Salary commensurate with experience.

General Statement of Duties: The primary function of the School Psychologist is to provide preventive, diagnostic, and counseling services for individual pupils and groups of pupils and to provide parent and teacher support/consultation. These services will enhance understanding of self and increase the effectiveness in dealing with the educational and social environment.

SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS (multiple positions)

The Cooperstown Central School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of School Bus Driver. This is a part-time, ten (10) month position with a competitive salary and benefits package. Successful candidates are required by NYS Law to hold a valid CDL Certificate License.  Click here for NYS REQUIREMENTS.  CCS drivers are to be available during the hours of 6:30-9:30 AM and 1:00-4:00 PM Monday through Friday when school is in session. District incentives for reimbursement of cost for licensing requirements.

SUBSTITUTE STAFF

CCSD is actively recruiting hard-working, dependable individuals to be a part of our Substitute staff. Looking for applicants that are flexible with their hours and understand the potential for short-notice contact. All substitute positions are on an as-needed basis. The pay rates are equal to the NYS minimum wage as set forth in the Minimum Wage Act (Article 19 of the New York State Labor Law) of $13.20 per hour for the following positions:

  • Bus Monitor

  • Custodian

  • Cook

  • Food Service Worker

  • Secretary (Office Support)

  • School Monitor

  • Teacher Aide

Other Substitute Positions:

  • Bus Drivers – $28 per hour

  • Licensed Teaching Assistant – $14.00 per hour

  • School Nurse – $110 per day; must have an NYS Registered Nurse License
