Effective August 8th students will have a new way to log into their district email accounts. Below is information about the work being done and how to access your district email. Also below is information about the new feature’s students will have access too.
- Email will be switched from Gmail to Outlook. Gmail for school use will be disabled. All saved emails will be moved for the students. You will still have access to the full Google Suite with the exception of Gmail.
- All students email addresses will be moved to cooperstowncs.org. The CCSmail.org domain will be going away.
- Student usernames and email address will be changed from first initial last name (jsmith@coopertowncs.org) to first name. last names@cooperstowncs.org (john.smith@cooperstowncs.org).
- Current student passwords should carry over as part of the migration. If your password doesn’t work, please contact the South Central Regional Information Center (SCRIC) Service Desk at (607) 766-3800 (Option 1) and we can reset your password for you.
- Office 365 will be made available to everyone. This will be available through the MyApps link placed on the district’s webpage. The link is also below
- The new Microsoft Office licensing allows up to 5 free take home licenses for students to install on personal machines. Simply sign in to your Office 365 account thought MyApps to access your free installer
How to access your Email

Log into MyApps with your district email address and password
first name.last names@cooperstowncs.org (john.smith@cooperstowncs.org).
Once logged in click on the Office 365 icon
This page that loads is your Office 365. On the top is a list of different Office apps, like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. You can click one of those and use the application within your web browser, without needing to actually install the app onto your computer.
Click in the Outlook icon to access your email
How to install Office 365 on a personal device

To install Office on your computer instead of use it online, click the "Install Office Apps" button on the top-right of the screen. It will download a setup file that you can launch to install Office.
At the end of the installation, it will ask you for your school e-mail.
NOTE: You must log into your school email account to use this software on your personal device.
