Congratulation to Cooperstown Central School Teacher Dave Peplinski who was honored as the recipient of the Fetterman Award on October 12th at the Otesaga. The Fetterman Award is given in memory of Patrick C Fetterman, longtime Associate Director of the ACC Gymnasium.  Recipients are honored for their dedication to serving local youth, especially in the area of athletics. 


Dave aka Pep is a 6th grade Science teacher who started his 31st year in education this past September. He has successfully overseen the after-school Science Club for 29 years. He has severed as the 6th grade team leader for multiple years, as well as the 6th grade class advisor and student government advisor. Additionally, he is involved in the school's outward-bound program and has attended the Outward-Bound program course in Oregon as a student as well as a course in main this past summer as a teacher.  Along with these remarkable long term educational commitments, Pep has also been involved in many other extracurricular activities such as Ski Club, Compost Club, Purple Pinkie Club, 6th grade Community Group, Science Olympiad and Varsity "C" Club. 


Pep's stellar commitment to academia is coupled alongside his commitment to youth sports. He has coached or assisted in all levels of boys' soccer for CCS through the last 25 years of his tenure and is currently coaching the boys modified soccer team.  Additionally, he is the girls' varsity golf team coach and has held that position  for the last 15 years.  Pep has led the Girls Varsity Golf  team to an impressive 6 Center State Conference Championships and 5 Section III Championships.
