The Cooperstown varsity golf team wrapped up an impressive postseason with strong performances at Sectionals, State Qualifiers and the League Medalist Tournament!

At the Section III Tournament on May 18, the Hawkeyes earned a second-place team finish with a score of 452, just behind Hamilton’s 435. Individually, Brayden Sentz and Thomas Hellenthal both advanced to State Qualifier Day 1 after shooting impressive rounds of +6 and +18, respectively.

During the State Qualifier Tournament on May 20-21, Thomas Hellenthal competed at Timber Banks Golf Club in Baldwinsville and finished with a solid +14 round on Day 1. Brayden Sentz delivered an outstanding performance, leading the field after Day 1 with a score of -1. He followed that up with a +6 round on Day 2 to finish +5 overall and secure second place in the tournament.

With his runner-up finish, Brayden has qualified for the NYSPHSAA Golf Championships at Mill Creek Golf Club in Rochester from June 6-8, marking his third consecutive trip to the state tournament!

The postseason success continued at the League Medalist Tournament on May 26, where Brayden Sentz and Thomas Hellenthal captured the team title for the Hawkeyes. Brayden also earned a second-place individual finish after an exciting two-hole playoff.
