Mrs. Siracusa’s sixth grade students recently completed an exciting collaborative project focused on sustainable clothing and environmental awareness. Through this project-based learning experience, students explored how clothing choices can impact the environment and learned creative ways to reduce waste and promote sustainability.

As part of the project, students participated in field trips that helped deepen their understanding of sustainable practices and inspired their creativity. Working together in teams, they designed and developed their own inventions using materials they sourced from thrift stores and recycled items. This hands-on approach encouraged innovation, problem-solving and teamwork while reinforcing important environmental concepts.

To showcase their learning in a unique and memorable way, the students even created and performed their own original song connected to the project’s themes.
