| February 1, 2018

Four cases of pertussis, also known as whooping cough, have been confirmed in the Cooperstown Central School District.  The individuals were treated and are being monitored by their healthcare provider.

The district has notifying by mail all parents/guardians of students in the Elementary and Jr./Sr. High School, and providing them with information on the symptoms of pertussis along with recommendations from the New York State Department of Health. The Otsego County Public Health Department is working closely with the family to determine close contacts, who will be notified by the Public Health Department.
