SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER

The Cooperstown Central School District is seeking qualified candidates for an immediate opening for a Special Education Teacher in an intermediate level self-contained behavior adjustment program. Experience working with challenging behaviors and self-regulation strategies preferred.

Appropriate and current NYS certification in Students With Disabilities is required for teacher position. Salary commensurate with experience.

Successful candidate must be available Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 3:00 pm, when school is in session.

NON-TEACHING POSITIONS

SCHOOL COUNSELOR (High School)

The primary objectives of guidance services in the Cooperstown High School and the efforts of all guidance personnel are directed toward and focused upon the individual pupil. The primary aim is to assist each pupil to make educational, vocational, and personal-social adjustments and plans which are appropriate to his/her needs and interests, consonant with his/her capacities and capabilities, and conducive to a satisfying and useful life. In order to carry out the objectives of this position, the High School Counselor will perform the responsibilities listed below. Specific activities and duties related to these responsibilities and summer responsibilities are available in the guidance office.

TEACHER AIDE 1:1

The Cooperstown Central School District is seeking qualified candidates for an immediate opening for a Teacher Aide in an intermediate level self-contained behavior adjustment program. Experience working with challenging behaviors and self-regulation strategies preferred.

Successful candidate will be paid $15.75 per hour and must be available Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 3:00 pm, when school is in session.

PART-TIME SCHOOL MONITOR (2 POSITIONS)

The Cooperstown Central School District is seeking TWO qualified candidates to work as a part-time School Monitor at the Junior/Senior High School. One assignment is 10:50 am – 12:50 pm, and the second assignment is 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM. Both positions are Monday – Friday when school is in session, and contingent upon the needs of the District.

The successful candidate must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with staff, students, and community. The work involves assisting in pupil supervision.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Good general intelligence; ability to get along well with children and command their respect; some knowledge of first aid methods; neat personal appearance, clerical aptitude; familiarity with classroom routine; good powers of observation; tact; courtesy; good judgment; and, good physical condition.

BOYS' MODIFIED TRACK & FIELD COACH

All substitute positions are on an as-needed basis. The pay rates are equal to the NYS minimum wage as set forth in the Minimum Wage Act (Article 19 of the New York State Labor Law) of $11.10 per hour for the following hourly positions:

  • Bus Drivers – $26 per hour
  • Licensed Teaching Assistant – $12.00 per hour

  • Teacher (Daily Long-term) – $125 per day (certified)
