Tuesday, March 5th, CCS Quiz Team continued their winning streak at the Catskill Area School Study Council Upstate Academic Competition held at SUNY Oneonta. After winning first place for Small Schools and tournament MVP (Adam Ilgin) at the Geneva Invitational in February, our A and B teams went undefeated to the finals Tuesday, where the A team took the lead after two strong rounds from the B team. Quiz Team will face regional rivals in the Brainbusters Spring Tournament for the final regular season contest Saturday, April 6th, at Ithaca High School. Seniors Ilgin, Jon Stone, Will Friedman, Kyle Meyer, and sophomore Ray Hovis will return to the Small School National Championship Tournament in Chicago May 2-5, where the Hawkeyes won 5th in the nation, 3rd for Very Small Schools, and tournament All-Star (Wriley Nelson, 16th), out of over a hundred teams last April.
