We welcome the public to all budget discussions of the CCS Board of Education.  The first part of the meeting is dedicated to discussion among the Board of Education and the Superintendent, reviewing each component of the budget. This discussion brings many months of advanced planning, data-gathering, and decision-making.  

  • The Administrative component pertains to roughly 10% of the total budget that is devoted to the superintendent office and staff, Board of Education and Board Clerk, principals and office staff, and various other essential pieces of funding such as legal costs.  

  • The Program component is comprised of all things instructional, and makes up approximately 75% of the total budget, including all teachers, curriculum, programs, extra-curricular and athletic programs, including special education. 

  • The Capital component includes all district operations, maintenance of plant and debt service.  The Capital component represents 15% of the overall budget.
