Cooperstown Elementary School celebrated “Spring Planting Day” in Kid Garden on Friday, May 31, as CCS students grades K-6 had the opportunity to plant seedlings in Kid Garden that were started earlier in the year in their classrooms. Kid Garden is a collaboration between Cooperstown Central School and the Cooperstown community. The garden serves as a living project that reaps benefits for CCS students and staff, adult volunteers and the community-at-large by providing wholesome produce to area food pantries. Kid Garden cultivates learning in a healthy outdoor environment and teachers are encouraged to use this space whenever possible for instruction. CCS is proud to support Kid Garden and thanks Kristin Griger, along with the many volunteers who help keep our garden growing, learning and producing throughout the year.
