2018 CFES College Explore Program

CFES Brilliant Pathways (CFES) believes that to prepare CFES Scholars for success in college they must have opportunities to experience what college is really like. College Explore is a meaningful way for rising junior and senior Scholars to learn what it takes to make a successful transition to higher education.
College Explore is a three-day residential campus experience for Scholars, providing guidance on the college process. Participants stay in campus residence halls, attend mock-classes taught by college professors, and participate in workshops to help prepare them for the college application process. All students who attend the program are expected to share what they learn with their CFES Scholar peers upon returning to school in September. Program details include mentor group sessions led by college professionals related to:
• developing the essential skills needed for success
• writing a personal statement
• what admission representatives look for in applicants
• how students can best present themselves
• key elements of college success
• choosing the right college
• creating a college going culture in high school
• leadership development

CFES Scholars who are rising juniors or seniors may apply to participate in one of the College Explore Programs being offered this summer:
