Taking a Look at the Past to Help Today’s Students Learn

A teacher and two students study a headstone in a cemeteryCooperstown Sixth Grade students visited the cemetery on River Street on Wednesday, Oct. 18 to study headstones. While the primary purpose of the project is to learn how to write creative epitaphs for English Language Arts class, the students also learned a little history about Cooperstown’s founders and a little science related to how the headstones have been weathered through the years. That’s how we learn at Cooperstown CSD!
