Our Schools Goals

The Cooperstown Central School District is a partnership of students, parents, teachers, staff and all other community members. The school's mission is to provide a caring environment that motivates students to pursue individual excellence and to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for continual growth. Education at Cooperstown Central School shall foster an active curiosity, self-discipline, a positive attitude and compassion.

Each year, close to 90% of our seniors go on to some form of post secondary education, with many entering challenging 4 year colleges and universities.  We offer 10 A.P. courses (The most of any school in the area) with over 50% of our seniors completing one or more challenged courses.  We continue to exceed the New York State Learning Standards benchmarks in all core areas and are always striving to ensure our students are ready for college, the military or work. Along with our academic success, our students excel in many sports and extracurricular activities (check any of the links provided on this Web site) and are often involved in many Cooperstown area events (Orpheus Theatre, Leatherstocking Theatre, Glimmerglass Opera. and the National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction weekend).
