  • Quality resources and instruction to students and staff
  • Instruction and practice to become effective users of ideas and information
  • Information literacy skills to promote the effective use of technologies inside and outside the classroom
  • Inspiration for a life-long appreciation of literature and learning both for pleasure and for personal growth

Hour of Code

We live in a world surrounded by technology. Whatever field our children choose to go into as adults they will need an understanding of how technology works. That’s why our entire school recently participated in one of the largest worldwide education events: The Hour of Code. Our students joined over 2 million students worldwide to learn the basics of computer programming.

We will continue to engage your children with computer coding activities throughout the school year. They may also practice outside of school by going to hourofcode.org or by signing into their Scratch accounts through ClassLink. Students in grades K-2 have learned using a free app called Scratch, Jr.
