Successfully completing each Regent exam in a particular subject area reflects that a student has attained an established level of competence as proscribed by the New York State Learning Standards. After much research, discourse, and feedback from NYS Department of Education officials, the Board of Education supports the recommendation of the administration that Regent exam grades not be part of a student’s overall G.P.A.
